Dear Colleagues,
Don’t forget to register for the 2017 meeting of the Ohio Classical Conference.
We have a great program beginning with a keynote by Prof. Lynne Lancaster, the acclaimed archaeologist and expert on Roman building and construction: “What Ancient Concrete Buildings Can Tell Us About Roman Society.”
Additional presentations include the Travis Horseman, a graphic novelist whose subject matter is late antiquity, Prof. E. Del Chrol, who will present on immersive historical simulation in the classroom and run a workshop on that topic, and ACL president Sherwin Little and Wyoming HS teacher Todd Wegenhart, who will conduct a panel discussion on teaching and testing reading proficiency.
The conference is one day only, Saturday, October 7, at the Columbus Academy in Gahanna.
This is a great opportunity to renew old and make new connections with Classicists from around the state.
There is no registration fee—just renew or begin your annual membership in the OCC, for $25.
The OCC will sponsor a wine and cheese and cheese reception. You can also opt to attend the Virgilian Society lunch ($15) and the OCC banquet ($35).
On-line registration is easy at: https://commerce.cashnet.com/ohioemkt4
