Please see the two invitations below from Timothy Wutrich of CWRU:
(1.) On Wednesday 20 April at 7:00 p.m. there will be a dinner and planning session for those interested in a new project on performing ancient drama as a means of exploring on-going philosophical questions. Inspired by the work of Jonathan Shay, Peter Meineck Aquila Theatre, Bryan Doerries and Theater of War, I would like to bring together teachers, students, actors, artists, and others interested in Greek and Roman drama, tragedy and comedy. The long-term goal would be to stage a play in November at the CWRU Dionysia. I will provide dinner and drinks on campus at CWRU; those interested need to register with me by Sunday 17 April at midnight (trw14@case.edu).
(2.) On Friday 22 April at 7:00 p.m. there will be a dinner with our Vergil Week 2016 keynote speaker, Professor Ralph Hexter following his presentation and a presentation by Jas Elsner in a related event at the Cleveland Museum of Art. The dinner party for Professor Hexter will also be a chance for area high school and university faculty to talk about the 2021 meeting of CAMWS in Cleveland. Dinner and drinks will be provided by the CWRU Department of Classics, but guests will need to register by Friday 15 April at 4:00 p.m. with our department assistant Jessica Jurcak (jkj22@case.edu).
