The Society for Classical Studies Committee on Diversity in the Profession (CODIP) is proud to announce the deadline for this year’s Frank M. Snowden Jr. Undergraduate Scholarships!
The Snowden scholarships are designed to help undergraduates from historically underrepresented groups further their study of the ancient world by providing funding for opportunities not available during the regular school year. Past recipients have used the scholarship to help fund participation in archaeological programs or to complete additional coursework, especially in ancient languages. Awards are given of up to $4,500 and should be used in summer 2026.
More details about the scholarship, including eligibility and application guidelines, can be found here: https://classicalstudies.org/awards-and-fellowships/frank-m-snowden-jr-undergraduate-scholarships
This year’s application deadline is: February 23, 2026 at 11:59 pm (ET).
CODIP will be holding an information session about the Snowden scholarship on Zoom on January 27, 2026 from 7:00 -8:00 pm (ET); we encourage prospective applicants and faculty recommenders to attend.
