An Invitation to Attend the 103rd Annual Meeting of the OCC

Dear Ohio Classicist,

I am writing to invite you, your colleagues, and your students to attend the 103rd annual meeting of The Ohio Classical Conference, “Myth and History.” The meeting brings together teachers and students of Greek, Latin, and the Classics from throughout the state of Ohio and beyond, from all levels, high school to university. We gather at the suburban campus of Columbus Academy in Gahanna, Ohio for two days devoted to study and promotion of Classical languages and civilizations. A copy of the program flyer can be downloaded here, together with a flyer for a special conference event, readings of Plautus’s Pseudolus in Latin (Friday) and in English (Saturday). The conference offers three panels of papers, a professorial panel, a graduate student panel, and an undergraduate panel. We are especially delighted to have three special conference speakers this year: Professor Christopher Bungard (Butler University) speaking on translating, acting, and directing Plautus; Professor Mike Fontaine (Cornell University) on Vergil’s Aeneid, Books 7 – 12; and Emma Vanderpool (Goffstown High School) on Classics for young adult readers.

Full details regarding registration and times are available on The Ohio Classical Conference website:

I hope that you, your colleagues, and your students will be able to join us!

Sincerely yours,

Timothy Wutrich

President, The Ohio Classical Conference
